What happened to "Laying Down Mode"?

Dear Meta Quest Support,

Obviously there is ALOT of interest in this feature returning. Since it was present in V53 but then discontinued in subsequent versions it has caused many users significant frustration. I am a surgeon and perform most of my surgeries with my patients awake using only local anesthetic. I often have them use our Meta Quest2 for relaxation during their procedure. The lack of the laying down feature is a significant drawback to your systems widespread use for this purpose. Additionally, many of my colleagues have tried using it in the hospital setting for patients, but those that need it the most, the ones that can't even sit up, have sadly been forgotten or ignored by Meta.  Please make sure this message gets to Dr. Chang (Mark's wife).  I am glad she is interested in using their great wealth to help the world with research grants, etc. but she could do immense good for patients all over the world if she could just have her husband reinstate that feature.  It's great that Meta wants to create an amazing virtual world, but shouldn't they make a "virtual ramp" now for all those who want to experience VR lying down? 

It’s getting very frustrating at the lack of progress with this so far. As of software v60, there is still no laying down mode and the user experience of trying to use a quest when laying down is still terrible.

Will someone at Meta please take note of this thread and make a laying down mode for quest a priority!

Some apps - such as Bigscreen Beta - have added a tilt feature but the lack of a global laying tilt setting that works across all apps is baffling and should have been a day 1 feature.

The lack of this feature has stopped me using my quest in recent months. Sitting up just applies constant pain on my neck now whenever using quest 2. A few select apps have this built in but the lack of a system wide "lying down" mode is a big inconvenience. Seems one of the more simple features to implement too. Just a case of rotating the axis to suit is it not? Please implement this!

It's somewhat absurd that there have been more than 60 versions of the Quest software and we STILL can't use Quest devices laying down in comfort. Get your priorities sorted Meta & listen to your customers! This would make a HUGE difference to peoples enjoyment of using these devices.

I'm sure I speak for the majority when I say that what people actually want from their VR devices is to be able to use it laying down and hang out with their friends (represented as REALISTIC looking avatars) in a nice environment with a large screen where we can share video and web content together.

This should have been available from day 1. Come on Meta! Get this sorted!

What a load of garbage.  I bought the O3 specifically because I've got a lower lumbar back failure with major surgery in the next month and wanted to be able to do things (like my job) during weeks of recovery that will start exclusively on my back in bed eventually getting to where I can sit at a desk after some number of weeks.  But, as I and most aware people have learned, never expect anything to improve for users on Facebook/Meta.  Wanna play a gee-whiz game, gotcha covered right away.  Need it for dealing with real life, meaningless words not even worth the hot air.  Games make more money, and the highest priority is getting that 7 figure bonus for senior management

I never imagined such an obvious feature wouldn't work.  Can't even use this POS in a recliner without propping up?  It will be months before I can use this at all.  Time to look into that return policy, and then into competitors...

Adding my voice here. I have a condition that makes sitting and standing intolerably painful, sometimes for months at a time. I've also purchased every Quest since the original Rift, so I've supported the company faithfully nearly since its birth. And I'm dumbfounded to see Meta going out of their way to make accommodations for users with the most trivial complaints, while completely ignoring users with legitimately serious problems. Not only does this show moral confusion in priorities, it's a slap in the face to faithful, longtime supporters like myself. 

Hey Meta. Just bought the quest 2 and realy enjoy it so far. But allready on day 2 i need and want the laying down mode. pleas hurry uo and reimplement this feature. its a nobrainer. it is very important that you add the lay down mode again. better sooner than later. lets go.....
