What happened to the loft?

Started my Quest 2 and there is no Loft environment or whatever it is called. All I get is theysky and what looks line a plain of concrete. Restarting doesn't. I know the canned response will be to factory reset the headset. I'm not going to do that because 99% of time it does nothing to solve the problem.

  • Everything functions, just no Loft, which IMHO stinks since you can't change the environment like you before navigator, just the skybox. And you can't add custom skyboxes.

I fixed it anyway, no thanks to Meta. A recent update in Quest Games Optimizer added an experimental function to restore the old UI - except rebooting reverts to Navigator. I tried this and a popup showed up asking if I wanted to download Loft. Before I could click on yes it started to download Loft on it's own. And now Loft has been restored. And I can switch back to the old preferred UI.

Which begs the question why isn't Navigator an experimental feature? It's too buggy really for full release.

Factory resets everytime I've done them were a complete waste of time solving nothing and taking days to reload my games and apps and videos and tweak settings back to the way I like.

The only improvements in Navigator that I care about is you can pin up to 10 apps and now you can unpin unwanted stuff like the Store, Chat, Horizon Worlds, etc.

Then don't factory reset and enjoy your non-functioning headset ๐Ÿ˜.

The lofts are NOT part of Navigator. I got the new Lofts when I was still on Universal Interface, and it was months ago. Your headset software must have been months out of date.

  • NomadsAnIslandโ€‹  you can try the Meta update tool ........ before doing a factory reset๐Ÿ™ƒ

My Q2 got the update to v2.4 - Q3 is still on v2.3 - maybe you received that update too, but it doesn't go throuh properly? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I walked into my loft yesterday, wasn't there, fell through the floor and ended up in a 2016 Samsung Gear VR. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚
