What if you can check for controller damage

Crazy suggestion what if you can go in a setting to check for any damage/problem INSIDE ur controller, what if instead of tearing ur controller into little pieces to find out a problem in ur controller, you can just check in ur settings. Now i know this sound difficult for meta and they may have to create new controllers or a new headset but it will be so cool, ya you might have to get new controllers if you dont know what you are doing, but if you know how to repair things intead of paying $80+ you can fix ur controller and possibly only spend 10+ dollars for like 2 new parts. If you read this far thank you for listening to me and if you like my idea send a comment "meta plz" thank you again.

  • So then instead of costing US$75 each, they would cost US$200 each and fail more often and cost even more to repair because of all the sensors inside them🀣. And just imagine all the firmware updates and software problems due to the added complexity; it's bad enough as it is.

No need for stupid sensors. Just engineer the controllers better so they don't fail in the first place πŸ˜‰. There's a very wise saying called the KISS rule: "Keep It Simple, Stupid". Any fool can make something complicated - it takes a genius to make it simple 😁.

  • It is a crazy suggestion. If there is something physically damaged inside the controller, you have to open it anyway. As soon as you open it you can find out what the problem is. There are a few common problems that are easily recognised. You can watch some Fix my Oculus videos so you can recognize the symptoms and the parts needed. It's not really a good idea, unless as steve_40 says you want to pay big money for a controller with an inbuilt diagnostic program.......which still involves opening it to fix it.. Makes no sense.
