It is a crazy suggestion. If there is something physically damaged inside the controller, you have to open it anyway. As soon as you open it you can find out what the problem is. There are a few common problems that are easily recognised. You can watch some Fix my Oculus videos so you can recognize the symptoms and the parts needed. It's not really a good idea, unless as steve_40 says you want to pay big money for a controller with an inbuilt diagnostic program.......which still involves opening it to fix it.. Makes no sense.
