Ok, it might be that there is debris inside the port or inside the usb-c connector. Take a small brush and see if you can remove anything that might be in there. You could also try a wooden toothpick and VERY GENTLE put it in there and see if it dislodges anything. You could also try a can of compressed air, you can find in diy stores or online and see if it blows anything out. That's probably the safest thing to try first. Worst case scenario is the USB port is damaged and needs to be replaced. Hopefully it's not that. However if it's not going in fully but the device is charging, don't worry, don't force it  just leave it alone. Too allow for the thickness of the head strap cover it might be that it doesn't go all the way in, honestly I never checked mine. Good luck with it.

  • Hi tooocoolalex 🙂

Have you tried a different cable?

Maybe/hopefully only the plug from cable is broken and not the port from the Quest.

If it also doesn't work with another cable, reach out to support to see your options.

    Hello tooocoolalex,

We appreciate how important charging your headset is for your continued VR experience and we would love to provide some guidance to support this!

For possible debris or liquids in your headset or charger, please follow the steps below:

    Required Equipment:

    • A disposable Soft Bristle Toothbrush. The toothbrush must be New and Dry to avoid recontamination of the USB port.
    • A paper towel, napkin, or cloth. The cloth must be Dry and Clean to avoid recontamination of the USB port.

    Warning:

    • Do not use a pre-pasted toothbrush!
    • Do not use any liquid or solvent such as isopropyl or bleach.
    • Wear gloves and safety glasses or a face shield.
    • Discard the toothbrush after cleaning.

    Instructions:

    • Power off the device. Remove all accessories.
    • In a circular motion, brush and clean inside the USB-C port using the soft bristle toothbrush.
    • Make sure the toothbrush bristles are getting deep inside the connector and moving around the inner tongue.
    • Do not press down on the toothbrush too hard.
    • In a scooping motion, use the toothbrush to help the liquid come out of the USB-C port.
    • Use a paper towel or a dry cloth to absorb and clean the liquid and debris around the port.
    • Let the device dry at room temperature in a well-ventilated area for at least 1 hour (varies).
    • Do not connect a USB cable to the device until the port is completely dry.
    • Do not attempt to charge and do not use the device until the USB-C port is completely dry.
    • Alternatively, use a can of Compressed Air to blow inside the USB-C port with 3 bursts. (Safety glasses and PPE must be worn per manufacturing recommendation)

Additionally, you can try charging with a different cable and outlet to ensure power is being receive to your headset.

Please don't hesitate to send us a PM or contact our amazing support team to discuss further.

    Thanks!

        Hello tooocoolalex

        Thanks for keeping us updated!

Your headset should charge in about 2 hours if using the provided power adapter (included in the box) to charge the headset from a wall outlet.

The performance of third-party adapters cannot be guaranteed, even if they appear to be like the official adapter. You should always use the power adapter included in the box to charge the Headset.

Are you experiencing any error messages when attempting to charge?

Please also see if the headset will load the boot screen and then exit out:

        • Hold the power and volume (-) buttons on the headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads.
        • Exit and reboot the headset.

Again, please don't hesitate to send us a PM or contact our amazing support team to gain further specifics and continue the conversation.

        Thanks!
