Where do I put the code in the headset?

On my front screen when I put my headset on on it asks me to go to the meta site via mobile or PC and enter a code when prompted. I have done just that and there is nowhere to put in the code so I'm unable to use any of my apps. What am I missing?

    Thank you. It's sorted now. I have no idea how. I just logged in again and I was asked for the code. I think I'm confused with the accounts. For instance, I tried to log in here to reply and each time I did it, it took me to a screen which asked if I wanted top log in to my Oculus account. Clicking no didn't work and clicking yes took me back and into a loop.

  • Hiya there Hinenui! We understand you're having issues with your device code. We would love to help you out with this. 

     

    If you're having problems in VR after setting up a Meta account, here are a few things you can try:

    • Restart your headset, then connect the Meta Quest mobile app to your headset.
    • Go to auth.meta.com/settings/security/ and click LOG OUT OF ALL SESSIONS. In your headset, you should now see a device code screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your device code. After you log back in, your device should restart – if not, you can manually restart your headset.
    • If you're having problems with an additional Meta account on your device, remove and then re-add the account.
    • Perform a factory reset. Ensure you have cloud backup enabled so you don't loose your data!

    If you continue to have the same issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to us Via private message so we can assist you further.   • Hey everyone! Just wanted to jump in here and note that I'll be locking this thread. The main reason being that the original post is now over a year old and likely has a different root cause than anything current.

    If you're running into some problems finding where to input the 8 digit code, I highly suggest heading to Meta.com/device and making sure you're logged into the right account. 

    If you're having some problems with a 5 digit code, this would only be done through the app while logged into the administrator account. 

    Afterwards, I'd recommend reaching out to MetaStoreHelp a private message on their profile or through a support ticket. Thanks again!

      I have this issue too - my headset tells me to enter a code but there's nowhere to put it. Oculus app wanted this as well but I got through that eventually and it's just the headset that demands it. Please help before I revise my positive reviews of the Oculus headset and throw my useless lumps of plastic and precious metals in the garbage

        Hey there, ConnorOh2015! We want you to be able to access your apps and use your device properly! We see you sent us a PM and we'll be happy to get to you there to resolve this as quickly as we can!

         

        For anyone else who may see this, generally depending on the number of digits the code is will determine what the code is for.

         

        5-digit code = pairing code (which is done via the Meta Quest app downloadable on google play or Apple store)
        8-digit (alpha-numeric) code = adding secondary account or reconnecting account (not re-pairing)​
