Thank you for your brave decision to necro a four‑year‑old thread just to announce that nothing worked. History will remember this.

      Hi there,

We just popped by to offer a helping hand.

If the initial setup is already complete, the pairing code will be found within the headset by going to Settings > System > About.

If you are in the process of doing the initial setup, check the following, and it should display the code.

      • Make sure the headset is on when setting up the Horizon app.
      • If the headset is not listed, make sure that the mobile phone has Bluetooth turned on.
      • Make sure that the headset and mobile phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
      • If the headset still does not appear, uninstall and then re-install the Meta Horizon mobile app.

Let us know how you get on, or if you need any further help.

      Thanks!

Hey there, coolkidvr1789!  We'd be happy to help you add your pairing code so you can get to enjoy VR ASAP!

      Please try the following steps:

      1. Open the Meta Quest mobile app on a compatible mobile device. If the mobile app hasn't been installed already, it can downloaded using the links below:
      2. After opening the Meta Quest mobile app, if it has not already been setup, continue the setup process, which includes:
        • Signing into a Meta account
        • Setting up a VR profile
        • Adjusting preferences and privacy settings
        • Creating a store PIN
        • Adding payment information
      3. Once the account setup steps listed above are completed, the app may prompt you to select a headset. If not prompted automatically, go to Menu > Devices on the mobile app. Select the headset.
        • If the headset isn't listed, make sure that the mobile device has Bluetooth turned on. If the headset still does not appear, uninstall and then re-install the Meta Quest mobile app.
      4. On the next screen, tap Pair. The headset will either pair automatically or ask for the pairing code that was displayed in the headset.
      5. After the headset is paired, tap Wi-Fi or Controller Issues? and select the issue that you're having.
      6. Follow the remaining steps displayed in the Meta Quest mobile app to resolve the issue.

Please let us know if the steps helped. Or, if you are still needing some assistance, we're more than happy to assist!

  • I have the same problem. I did already a factor reset and still no code is showing up on the headset. Can you please advise how to handle that.

Thank you for confirming that you, too, have no additional information to offer.

        (I suspect you're a spambot.)

Hi @stefanie.zollmann, this isn't what we like to hear! No worries; we'll get your mobile phone linked so you can get back to gaming!
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take that may resolve your issue:

      • Make sure your phone is connected to the same network as your headset.
      • Reinstall mobile app.
      • Make sure all software is up-to-date
      • Ensure router is not blocking the connection to the app or headset.

If these steps doesn't resolve your issue, please feel free to reach back out to us so that we can further assist. We're always here to help!

  • If you're connecting to your Oculus account through your Facebook profile, you may be directed to 2Factor authentication. For this, you may need to use Code Generator in the settings section of the Facebook application. Remember, if you are asked for a code every time you log in, you can enter your Code Generator code in the Facebook app.

Hello, 18LNash! Need assistance locating the five digit code on your rig? We're here to help! For better assistance, please wear the headset and try to look up, you should see a 5 digit code pairing inside on the headset. If you can't see the code, please try to reboot your headset. You should be able to set-up as normally.

    To reboot your headset:

    1. With your headset on, hold the power button on the right side of your headset down until you're prompted with a shut-down screen.
    2. Select Restart to reboot your Quest 2 or Quest.

To pair your headset, you may click this link for the steps on how to pair your headset during the initial setup process.

Let us know if you need additional assistance.

    Thanks! 🙂

Hey colemock! If your 5 digit code isn't appearing on the top of the screen, try reinstalling your mobile app, and factory reset your headset. If the code still doesn't appear afterwards, please open up a support ticket, so we can take a closer look at what might be going on!
