Where is the new Navigator

How come I am on V81 and STILL NO NAVIGATOR ????

I have been tolerating the utterly terrible current UI for god knows how long ... so when do I actually get to use the new Quest Navigator UI ?????

    Hey there VRPlayer01!

We came across your post and wanted to help you out!

As of Public test Channel (PTC) v81, the Universal Menu is now the default navigation. However, Navigator is still available, and can be accessed via advanced settings if you're enrolled in the PTC!

You can do so by following these steps:

    1. Open Quick Settings by clicking on the battery icon in the Universal Menu
    2. Click the Settings button in the upper right corner of the Quick Settings window
    3. In the Settings menu on the left, scroll down and click on Advanced
    4. Toggle "Enable Navigator"
    5. The change will be implemented the next time the headset is booted - you can  reboot now to apply immediately.

We hope this helps and if you have any other questions or queries, please don't hesitate to let us know here, or privately by clicking our name, navigating to our account and selecting 'Send a Message'!

The Universal menu has always been the default menu so that's an odd statement. This new Navigator thing was supposed to be a new alternative. But  it seems a large portion of us have never had it released to us to try out.

So when can we ACTUALLY use it without having to use the PTC ?

VRPlayer01 It won't help if you join PTC now:

        Rollout details

Navigator started rolling out with v77 as a limited test and with v83 it will be rolled out to the same set of users that already have Navigator. We will be gradually rolling out to more users over the upcoming months.

I think the above option should be available to all users so we can choose old or new. I would choose the original as its less cluttered for me .

Hey, we all have navigator now. Thread can be marked as "solved". 🙂

  • Hi VRPlayer01 🙂

MetaStoreHelp is correct if Navigator is already rolled out to your headset/account but......

........it's still not rolled out to all users - me and many other users also don't have it yet.

    You(we) have to wait longer. I guess.😉

  • Any update on this? I'm now on v83 and still no Navigator UI. No option to enable under "Experimental" or "Advanced" settings, either.

Believe me the new navigator is hard to get use to and that's a polite way of saying it sucks I want the original one back.

Navigator has sort of been cancelled, at least for the time being.

As of November 21 we are reverting back to our previous UI experience for the majority of users in PTC

Unfortunately you won't be going back to the old UI, however I've been using the new one since v79. You'll get used to it. It's not rocket science. It's just like when you get a new UI on your Android or iPhone.. You'll get used to it. Nothing stays the same.  Adapt. It's what humans do naturally.
