White FLASH After Turning Quest 3 On

This is very small potatoes, compared to issues others report here, but does anyone else encounter a bright, white, LIGHT FLASH after turning on their headset following the Meta logo? It's so annoying and blinding! Can't be good on the eyes to be exposed to it over and over. I close my eyes every time I turn on the headset and wait for it to happen. Even with my lids closed it's still very strong. I wonder why it has to happen and if Meta can stop it... assuming it happens to others on a large scale. It's happened ever since I got my headset 2 years ago and updates haven't stopped it.

    In the first Terminator movie, the homeless guy saw a bright white light when the killer robot arrived from the future. Be careful out there!😁  On a serious note, that shouldn't be happening. I've not experienced it. It's not good for your eyes. Maybe send it for repair but if the device is working fine maybe don't put the headset on until it has passed the bright light stage. Save your eyes.

      According to this Reddit thread, MetaStoreSupport posted the following:

      It is common for the Meta Quest 3 to produce a bright white flash or flicker during startup. The flash is a known software bug or a result of the hardware initializing, and it is generally not a sign of any problems with the headset.

      On the count of three, you will forget that there are lots of bugs in your headset.

    I've had my Quest 3 for about 4 months, and yes, the bright flash happens during the Meta logo animation every time I restart the headset. I think it is normal. I've seen others report the same. I've had about a dozen software updates, and the flash still happens. It doesn't really bother me though (at least it's not the dreaded black screen 😁).

      I've never seen it myself. Maybe it's just on some headsets or possibly related to a software update?

    Hi Coolbrah​ 🙂

    So, usually I don't see it..... simply because I don't turn off the headset, so I don't have to restart it😂

    Probably not the best way to take care of the Quest, this is just what I do....not a  recommandation.😉

    But you are right, there is a little flash .....although I don't feel that  it's so bright that I have to close my eyes.

    You could start the headset and put it on after the the flash happened to protect your eyes.

      I had to check my start up again just to be sure I didn't miss it. Just goes to the black screen with rotating logo and goes straight to Navigator without any white flash. Maybe I'm just lucky 😁

    I just went in and this time it didn't happen. It does normally though but yes, thankfully it's very quick, and also very bright when your naked pupils are millimeters from the glass. Like I said I just close my eyes until after it happens. Anyway, things could be worse! Otherwise, my headset works flawlessly. Thanks for the replies. 😊
