Window snapping, spatial compute, enviornments
Improving spatial computing.
Problem: When placing windows, they constantly resize and reorient themselves.
Why it's a problem: The fix of decoupling the window from the taskbar and manually moving is tedious. I put it there based on its current size. Then it resizes. Placing subsequent windows at a different angle, to limit head rotation, requires that I have to move my body around when orienting the window. Then there's an auto-resizing to deal with again.
Meta solutions I don't want: A default multi-window setup Meta thinks I'll use.
Solutions I want: the ability to place windows at any angle or size without auto-resizing or reangling getting in the way.
The only reason I haven't switched to an XR or vision pro is that Quest theoretically should be able to handle my needs. I have gone back and forth and know that I'll have issues on other platforms as well. However, it's **tedious things like this** that make me want to switch.
Further suggestions:
Environment volume control: I want a workspace or viewing space, and the ambient sound gets in the way.
Ability to remove the doorways and mirrors, ect from the environments. Some of them are good to work in, but the view, and I'm assuming resources, are being disturbed by the mirror. The novelty is over. Give us the freedom to turn that off and just work and enjoy the capabilities. I will never care about my avatar's body. I'm not saying get rid of that stuff just give me the option to turn it off.
