4 days trying to get link to work!!!! OMFG

it blows my mind how difficult it is to get a simple thing (cable link) to work. ive gone through debug tools, new cables, updates, i even tried to switch to beta hoping they somehow had a fix in the new beta update! no, ive spent upwards of 10 to 20 hours trying to solve this, its rediculous how well the quest 3 works and the hardware being so good but meta cant even put a decent linking app together. the other thing that pisses me off is that this is a known issue ive seen in 10 to 20 reddit/oculus form posts. meta wtf, please just fix this issue its not my job to fix it after spending 500 dollars on the hardware. i have been deving my own apps and i can build and flesh out a basic app in the time it takes me to get a pre developed app to simply link to my quest. its super frustrating

  • Hey Rav, I feel your pain! It took me about a week to figure it out. Make sure your headset is updated to the lastest version(i had to factory reset mine), the account thats logged into your headset is your meta dev account (not personal), link your phone with the horizon meta app so that you can access developer options, also removing meta quest link app on your computer  (scrubbing hidden folders) and reinstalling it worked for me. I was going thru troubleshooting steps using chat gpt and this finally helped me solve it! Dont give up! 🤞

  • Hi Rav.

Similar situation here.  I can air link and cable link occasionally but not often.  I spend more time trying to link and recharge from trying to link than using the Quest 3.  Obviously, the link does work so I assume it is not an equipment issue.  The quest 3 is awesome when it actually works and I can see this taking off in popularity someday when it consistently works.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900x with AMD Radeon RX 6600  on an MSI Mobo

Also, Quest 3 claims I am running USB 2, I am not.  I am running USB 3.0 and USB 3.2.

Also, Headset slow charging rate is common for the link cable,

Please help as PCVR  is awesome and totally ROCKS (when it works)

Do you have a piece of tape over the sensor, between the eyes? This helps keep it linked and also extend the hours to 4 hours shutoff time in the settings. This is what helped me! Hopefully, you can get it working! 🤞I was having alot of troubling linking until I scrubbed clean (hidden folders) Meta Quest Link and reinstalled. Goodluck!
