allow rooting and downgrading on the quest

WE paid for it with our own money so we should be allowed to do what we want with our quest as long as its not illegal, your horrible company is restricting what we can do with our quest and its unfair, let us do what we want with our bloody devices??

  • I do believe this is possible. A bit of YouTube research should provide details.

Maybe you can. Out of curiosity I searched and found a number of YT vids claiming to have a method of rooting the device, but every comment on the videos from people who followed the instructions said it doesn't work. And here's a very recent discussion on XDA and you can see from the comments some have managed to root the device, but it has a little bit of an iffy feel to it if you know what I mean. It's a do it at your own risk situation.

  • It's possible, but just like about every piece of technology under the sun, not worth the risk to reward ratio in my opinion. I've heard horror stories about people causing bootloops and other similar errors, plus I'm pretty sure it voids any warranty you have to attempt.
