bought used from a friend / Quest 2

I bought a quest 2 used by a friend, i factory reset to add my own account. in the midst of the reset it tells me to connect through the meta horizon app. In the app it asks for permission for nearby devices. i accept it and i give it any and all permissions on my android phone. but everytime i click on continue nothing happens. i have restarted the quest. my android phone. Ive cleared all cache on my phone too. On bluetooth the quest isnt visible. Help ive been stuck here for 2 hours

    Thanks for reaching out about the problems that your having with setting up your Quest 2.

    We at Meta Store Support would like to offer a hand in trying to resolve this issue with you, and have a few suggestions that might be useful.

     

    • Uninstall the app, you can get the latest version for Android can be found here- Meta Horizon App
    • Ensure that both your phone and headset are running on the same network
    • Clear your Bluetooth cache on your phone, and check that the Quest 2 has been forgotten in both your Bluetooth, and Previous Devices settings.
    • Once the app is reinstalled, restart the headset and your phone
    • Allow the 'precise location' and 'nearby devices' if the notification appears again, otherwise, double check in your phone settings that they are allowed
    • Ensure that the headset is running the latest update- if you run into any problems with this, you can also use the Software Update Tool with a PC / laptop. 
    • Fully charge the device before attempting to link to your phone
    • Attempt to sync the headset and app again.
    • If still having any problems, you can attempt the setup from another phone if available.
