Cable Link Quest 3

I'm trying to connect to my computer, but a few seconds in it just disconnects, for no discernable reason, and always to unplug and replug to connect, which also doesn't work. I'm wondering if I'm being stupid and forgetting something or if it broke or what.

Air Link can connect after a few minutes, but not cable.

Also this was after turning my computer off and on to resolve some problems with all the audio stuff for my headset just stopped working. Turning my VR headset off and on did nothing. The VR app my computer was running is called VR chat and no sound could transmit or be received.

Also during that moment it felt like my VR headset was doing the processing because it was heating up a lot when usually it didn't.

It worked eventually, but I feel like something could go wrong.

    We hear you're having issues with Meta Quest Link while playing via a Link Cable, we would love to take a look into this, so that you can enjoy the vast world of PCVR with a cable.

     

    We will recommend a few troubleshooting steps here for you, starting off with ensuring that Air Link is disabled in the headset settings while playing via a Link cable.

    If that does not seem to be the issue, then please try repairing the Meta Quest Link app, this can be done very simply with these steps:

     

    1. Go to https://www.meta.com/quest/setup and click Download software.
    2. Select Repair.
      1. If Windows asks you if you are sure you want to open this file, click Yes.
      2. If Windows Defender prompts Windows protected your PC, click More info, and then click Run anyway.
      3. If your antivirus software restricts the file from opening, temporarily disable your AV and continue.
      4. Please remember to re-enable your antivirus software once you have completed the repair.
    3. Allow the repair process to run, download and install.
    4. Launch the Meta Quest Link app.

    We would also advise to check the Link cable for issues, for example twist, kinks, frays or bent pins, all of these could cause the disconnects.
