Can’t connect to PC when update quest

Every time my quest headset does an update I can’t connect to my PC have to delete everything on the quest side delete everything on the PC side and can’t contact me to resolve this problem happens every time

  • Can someone tell me how to get a call back from Meta quest support? This ongoing issue is driving me mad thinking of selling my quest and getting a proper PCVR headset.

  • After headset updates, I always check the Link PC app to see if it also has an update, and make sure it is up to date.

    If the connection to the PC isn't being recognized I try the following:

    • toggle the AirLink toggle under headset Link settings off and on slowly a few times. that usually wakes up the connection.
    • Press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC in Windows, select the Services tab and scroll down to OVRService. Then right-click and select RESTART. Wait about 1 minute for the Link PC app to close and reopen. The connection to PC should be available again.
    • Reboot the PC.
    • Fully power off and on the headset.
    • Toggle Link off and on in the headset settings and then re-pair the headset to the PC from scratch.

    The above methods always fix the problem for me (toggling AirLink off/on works about 90% of the time and is a very simple fix). Restarting the OVRService usually works if the AirLink toggling doesn't. I've probably had to do that one or two dozen times in the past 7 months. Only once, I had to re-pair my headset from scratch. And only 2 or 3 times did I need to reboot my PC. I've never had to reinstall the Link PC app in the 7 months that I've had my Quest 3.
