Can't install Meta Quest Link App

Help!  I am getting tired trying to find a solution on how to install the Link app on Windows 11 24H2.  My PC meets and exceeds all the HW requirements. I cannot find useful help with Meta IA.  A few weeks ago, it was working fine until the current update woke everything when it needed to update the Link driver in which it did nothing.  I ended up, uninstalling and deleting every folder related to Meta and Oculus, but now it just fails to install.  Help anyone!!!

P.S. I tried some of the current post, but no luck.

  • Unfortunately all I can do is offer my two cents in that I'm having the exact issue.  New update has broken something horrendously. My first problem was trying to update the app then it proceeded to fail at updating. Tried installer and it fails, ok delete related files and try again, fails. Mass update entire computer including bios rinse and repeat previous steps to no avail. And don't get me started on the uselessness of the braindead ai chat bot. Give me real customer service that I have to wait for, its leagues better then Meta AI tm.

This worked for me and I was finally able to install the link software. However my Headset struggled to link and when I finally got it too, it is connected with no audio. my Oculus device is not even appearing in my Sound options as a device anymore. Any suggestions?

  • Update.  I just rebuild my Windows 11 24H2 with Ryzen 7 and RX7900XT.  It just failed the installation on a new Windows.

  • I have been using ALVR since Meta broke Link. I might just stay with it as it seems to get better framerate, resolution, and stability over my link cable to my Quest 3. unfortunately some older headsets are not supported by ALVR.
