Can't log in to my meta account because no SMS code is being sent to my phone. Quest is useless

When I try to log in to my Meta account I get to the screen where it is supposed to send an sms code to my phone but it does not send the code. I removed my phone number from my account via the accounts center but it still tries to send to a number that should no longer be linked to my account. I changed my 2fa method to use an authenticator app but it does not show up as an option, only sms to my phone or enter a recovery code. I've tried all the recovery codes, and generated new ones, and it says the codes are invalid. This is extremely frustrating, and it's compounded by the fact that there is no phone number I can call to get support from a real person. Please help, my Quest is useless right now and I've wasted half my weekend trying to get it to work.
