Did you manage to get this to work?
I have a similar problem, but it works intermittently. Most of the times it's not working to cast my child's account to the phone where he's logged in, but then all of a sudden it decides to work.
You can use the "watch live" feature in the phone app to see and hear what your child is doing on their headset. In the phone app home screen, tap the hamburger menu (|||), then scroll down to Family Center, then tap your child's profile, then "Watch live". Your child must have a properly setup child account and be logged in to their profile on the headset for the option to appear on your phone.
