Connecting to my PC

I really need help with my PC I don't know if I supposed to have a gaming computer or a gaming laptop but I'm using a regular laptop to connect my Oculus and won't connect I'm using a USB type c to connect to my PC but it won't connect

  • Hey Javon,

I've linked the PC requirements to use Link with your device HERE. It'll outline the minimum and recommended requirements. Laptops are an even trickier subject as the Link cable is very picky about the laptops, but if you make sure it meets the requirements mentioned on the list then you should be golden.

That's right. Wireless works, albeit quite poorly, with my router, but wired doesn't do anything. There is no developer section anywhere, and the device is not released anywhere in the Windows 10.

Hey there Jared7779! I wish there was more we could do to help out, but if the PC you're using does not meet the minimum requirements for Meta Quest Link/Air Link then there is no way we are able to properly troubleshoot the issue. If the PC in question isn't compatible based on the standards we linked then at that point finding workarounds is probably your best option. Charmeds made some great recommendations that may help out with this issue though so I recommend checking out his reply.

The computer software itself has become quite corrupted. I have a problem with it quite often and only after reinstalling it does things get fixed. For some time now it has even claimed that the helmet has no power in its battery, and the battery was almost 100%. As soon as I reinstalled it stopped saying it. This is the only solution to the communication problems between the helmet and the computer that always works, but it is a matter of time before it breaks again.

I had no doubt that my PC passed spec for VR as I was replacing my Valve Index with the Quest3. I noticed my motherboard USB-C slot was supplying power but not passing the cable test. After trying a few cables, I suspected that the port didn't have enough power.
My Asus Z590 motherboard featured only one USB-C 3.2 port, an early version. I added a PCI-e USB-C 3.2 expansion card which immediately solved the issue.
