Controller Tracking and pairing issues with Quest 3.

I have owned a Meta Quest 3 for about a year now and currently with a second set of One Touch Plus controllers. My first set of controllers suddenly developed tracking problems after a major update to v74 software version. I did everything I was asked to do including factory reset but only achieved a short-lived fix on one occasion. Meta support asked me to return the headset and controllers for a fix or possible replacement of the device(s) which was a difficult thing for me to do since I live in Nigeria.

After about 6 months, I was able to get a second set of controllers through a relative living in the US. Just right after the recent major update to the headset, the right controller suddenly lost pairing connection with the headset. Removing and reinserting battery restored connection only one time and it was brief. I had to unpair it in the Meta Horizon phone app have been unable to repair it - pressing the B and Meta buttons together and holding them down for more than 4 seconds did not produce any vibration nor resulted in repairing. After about an hour, the left controller started dropping connection and reconnecting with the headset every 10 to 15 seconds. I also unpaired it and successfully repaired it but it continues to drop connection and reconnect.

I feel really frustrated with the Quest 3 controller issues. I play Eleven Table-tennis mostly with the headset. Can anyone help me on this forum please?

    Hello Jeffblue999!

We saw your post and wanted to offer our help with your controller connectivity issues.

We would ask you to please try a couple of steps to see if this solves the issue for you.

If you could please remove any 3rd party accessories, if you are using any.

As well as trying to replace the battery currently in your controller with a new one, in case you have not done so yet.

We would also suggest that you please see if you are able to find a different brand of battery to see if you are having issues with the battery themselves or your controllers.

If you are still having trouble with your controllers connectivity then we would ask you to please contact us privately and we would be happy to have a closer look into this with you.

We hope to hear from you soon and wish you a wonderful day!

Thanks for your response, Meta support. I'd like to state that I'm aware of the possibility of issues with controller battery. When the pairing problem started, I immediately inserted a new battery (Duracell with exclusive power boost ingredients) from same pack of 24 that I've taken from before. I even swapped batteries between controllers before replacing both batteries with new ones. It is remotely unlikely that the controllers suddenly developed aversion to Duracell batteries that I ordered from the US and have been using for over a month before problems started. Also, I don't use accessories except the BoboVR S3 Pro head strap which I've used also for over a month with my second and new set of controllers before issues arose. One thing common to the fate of my first set of controllers and the second ones is that their malfunction started soon after a major software update to the headset. Could this have been a mere coincidence?
