Controllers not working properly

My left controller stopped vibrating in the middle of a song in Synth Riders. 

I replaced the battery, unpaired, re-paired, and tried again. In my menu, both controllers work fine. But in games (Tetris, Synth Riders) only one controller shows at a time. I did a song in Synth Riders and both worked perfectly but not when it returned to the menu. If I hit the trigger on the right, I get the pointer but the left one goes away. Same to switch to left.

is this an easy fix?
