Controllers

Please help, I cant get my controllers to work properly, I've put in new batteries, I've un paired them, then re paired, it says success but still don't work, they move about but won't click on to a game, wen I use fingers it says use controllers then press continue but it doesn't allow me to continue.. now I'm stumped
