Dash Encountered a Fatal Error

I have a 9800x3d/5090 and trying to connect my Q3 Meta Link.  Everything looks good until just after it connects I get the 'Dash Encountered a Fatal Error' message and telling me to retry.  This happens whether I use the link cable or air link.  I had exactly the same issue on my previous build (7800x3d/4090) on a different Q3 headset.

I have followed the set-up videos to the letter but cannot get past this issue.  I have got it working using Virtual Desktop but I really want to figure out why this error keeps happening.  I spoke to another sim racer who is getting the same issue but is also unable to get help to figure it out

FWIW, I run triple monitors via DP to the 5090 and a 4th monitor connected via the HDMI on the motherboard.  I did run a test with the 4th monitor removed, but it didn't fix the Meta Link issue.

hey there rob1961. We understand you are having an issue with connecting your Quest 3 using Air Link and Quest Link. We know how this affects your VR experience and we want to provide you with a helping hand for this. here are a few troubleshooting steps that you can try to see if this resolves the issue.

    • Check that the headset is connected to the correct GPU. Both the headset and computer monitor must be plugged into the same graphics card.

                             *  This is not possible on some laptop computers due to their design. Where not possible, the computer is considered incompatible. You can try using the headset with a compatible computer.

    • Restart your PC.
    • Make sure GPU drivers are up to date.
    • Launch the Quest Link app by right-clicking on the shortcut and selecting "Run as Administrator"
    • If only happening with some apps, uninstall and re-install the problem apps.
    • Add the application to the antivirus software's whitelist.
    • Try another Windows user account with admin permissions
    • Repair the Meta Quest Link app. Here is a handy link for troubleshooting issues with the Meta Quest Link
    • Manually re-install the Meta Quest Link app.

Additionally, go into the Windows Control Panel, click on "Power Options," make sure your power plan is set to "High Performance" or “Ultimate Performance” (if available), then click "change plan setting" next to said power plan, select "change advanced power settings," expand "USB Settings" and then set "USB Selective Suspend" to "Disabled."
