Finding position in room

My Quest 3 says finding position in room and my controllers don’t work. They have new batteries and vibrate periodically but I’m unable to use them. I’ve tried everything from restarting, changing batteries and hard resetting it but nothing has worked. I’ve heard a firmware update could be the cause. If anyone has any solutions please let me know.
