Flip to Vsync

I get a flip to vsync of 25 ms whether I am using wired or a wireless connection. My total app to photon latency is around 43-45 ms on average. I have seen other users get as low as 30 ms app to photon latency with the same settings and  a lower spec PC. I am using a dedicated WiFi 7 router connect via 10 GPS Ethernet in the same small room connected to my Quest 3. How are other users able to achieve these latency numbers? Our graphics settings in game are the same and the settings on ODT/OTT are the same. Could it be they are using a different build or am I missing something? At 120 Hz flip to vsync can theoretically be as low as 11.3 ms from my understanding. Have they optimized flip to vsync somehow? The reason for optimization is performance related. I notice  big difference between 50 ms app to photon latency and 44 ms.

  • Your PC needs to be wired to your router via ethernet cable.

Perhaps you could test your headset on a friend's network, it might help narrow down whether the problem is with the headset or the network. Also, Windows has a game mode that is supposed to lower latency, plus some graphics cards also have low latency settings. The Windows Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling setting might affect latency, but I strongly suggest turning it off because it can interfere with SteamLink in a bad way causing it to constantly lose video streaming signal and disconnect.
