hand tracking does not work for me

I have enabled hand tracking, removed the controllers out of headset sight, but it doesn't switch to hands.
I just don't have any hands🤷‍
Does anyone here know what I'm doing wrong and what I can do to fix this?

    I tried something else today and that fixed it.

    I've put the headset on without touching the controllers first.....means, I didn't "wake them up" and that fixed it.

    I've hands now and can use hand tracking.😁

    Hi Choleni! We'd love to help you get hand tracking working properly. It's a cool feature to experience.

     

    To start, we'd like to make sure headset tracking is working properly so please check the following:

    • Ensure your area is well lit, with enough light to clearly see, but not direct sunlight.
    • Ensure the tracking cameras on the headset are clean.
    • Ensure your area is free of any reflective surfaces such as mirrors, glass or polished marble.
    • Ensure you area is free of small lights such as Christmas lights, or LED strips.
    • Try other rooms to see if the hands show up.

    Please let us know if these tips help and we'll be here to help further if needed. Thanks!

      Thanks for reply.

      I had all of this - except of trying an other room - already done.

      Just tried that....without success.

      I've also deleted the guardian history and set a new one.

      And I don't believe it's a problem of the cameras....if I enable space sense, they can "see" my hands.

      No non of these tips helped. I just got my oculus 3 for Christmas. I try to do the tutorial once I enable hand tracking but my hands wont appear.

        Hey there! We are thrilled to hear you are trying the hand tracking feature on the new Quest 3! We understand how eager you may be to utilize this awesome feature, so we will do everything we can to help! We'd first advise you to turn off hand tracking. Then we'd suggest enabling cloud backup. This ensures that your device's app data is saved as well as your game's progress. After ensuring you have cloud back up on, Please complete a factory reset using these steps:

        1. Turn off your headset.
        2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
        3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
        4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.​

        Once you have completed a factory reset, try turning on hand tracking and attempting again. Let us know if this helps!

      Hey amy15.2022, are you still having this issue? There have been a few updates recently and I'd like to make sure this was fixed. Please let me know if you still need any assistance!

  • have probab,y the same issue, cant use hands or passthrough whatsoever, i have tried everything from restarting to even factory resetting, so i dont know what to do now.

      Hey there darth_ogre1427! We totally understand that when you're having tracking issues, that can take valuable play time away from you! We'd love to help you out. We're going to put some tips and tricks on how to make the perfect environment for tracking! 

       

      • Playing environment is too bright, oversaturating the camera, or has interfering lights
        • Examples: Christmas lights, LED strips, direct sun exposure, etc.
        • Solution: Adjust the intensity of lights, try turning some lights off, reduce sun exposure or use curtains/blinders.
           
      • Playing environment is too dark, preventing the tracking cameras working properly due to lack of lighting
        • Solution: Turn some lights on/open curtains/blinders.
           
      • Playing environment contains reflective surfaces, interfering with the tracking cameras
        • Examples: mirrors, television screens, window reflections, glasses, polished marbles, etc.
        • Solution: cover the reflective surfaces while playing, or play in a different location.
           
      • Playing environment does not have enough contrast between objects or textures composing it
        • Examples: varnished wood furniture and parquet floors, all white walls, etc.
        • Solution: Play in a different location.
           
      • Dirty tracking cameras

        yeah that would be great. Ive tried pretty much all of these suggested tips and nothing has worked so far.

    None of these work for me either. I have a Quest Pro and it refuses to automatically switch to Hand tracking despite body tracking and auto-switching being enabled. It knows that my controllers are on the charger and just refuses to enable hand tracking, leaving me with the only the head-mounted cursor and the ability to press buttons with the volume key. This used to work fine, so functionality has regressed in a recent update. 

    Real talk, does Meta have a QA team? Do they test updates before rolling them out? Between this and Airlink Gate, I am not impressed at all.
