Help Adding 2nd Profile on Oculus Quest 2

Hello,

We are having trouble getting a 2nd profile onto our Oculus Quest 2. We have gone to Profiles and tried logging in to my son's instagram/meta account and we get the error that says "Your instagram account is in another account center with another meta account. You need to remove it from that account center before adding it to another".  My son unlinked his instagram acount from his facebook account and we still get this error.

What are we doing wrong? Please help!

    Hi Heather, fear not - we are here to help in any way that we can!

     

    We see that you're having trouble adding your son's profile to your Meta Quest 2. It appears that his account is already linked to another Account Center with a different Meta account. You said your son unlinked his Instagram account from Facebook, but you're still getting an error when trying to add a second profile to your Quest.

     

    It's important to know that a Meta account and a Facebook account are different. A Meta account is used to log into Meta VR devices and services like Meta Quest. A Facebook account is a social media profile. You can create a Meta account using your existing Facebook account, but they are separate entities. You can also create a Meta account with an email address or Instagram account.

     

    With that said, we were wondering if your son has unlinked his Instagram profile from his Meta account? If not, don't worry, It's really easy!

     

    To remove accounts from an Accounts Centre on your phone, tablet or computer:

     

    1. Navigate to Accounts Centre.
    2. Tap or click Accounts.
    3. Tap the profile that you'd like to remove.
    4. Tap Remove account.

    When you remove an account from an Accounts Centre, any profiles associated with that account will also be removed. You can find more information about this here.

     

    If your son has already unlinked his Instagram account from his Meta account and you continue to receive the same error, we would be happy to investigate the cause of the issue and find a solution for you.
