How to cast Meta Quest 3 to TV without internet (same Wi-Fi only)

Hi I’m trying to cast my Meta Quest 3 to a TV without using an internet connection. I have a local Wi-Fi network (router only, no internet), and both the Quest 3 and the TV with Chromecast are connected to the same network. Is there a way to cast the headset screen to the TV in this setup without needing internet access? I want to share the gameplay on the TV while offline. Any advice or workaround would be really helpful. Thanks!

    Hi there osdple,

     

    Thanks for reaching out regarding your query with casting your Quest 3 to a Chromecast TV with a local router. This is something that is not possible without an internet connection. The Meta Quest requires this to initiate the casting process. 

     

    That being said, you can cast via a cellular mobile hotspot, if that's something that's available to you while having the ability to connect both the Quest and TV to the same hotspot. There is a possible workaround here, as some TV models will only require a connection to be established initially during the setup. If you disable the hotspot on your mobile, the casting can sometimes continue to work on your local network without needing an internet connection. However, this is not something that's guaranteed.
