install Error for the Oculus link app

I recently purchased the meta quest 3 to use in my office, while trying to get the link app setup I keep running into an error message after about on 8th of the loading bar for the installation after the download period, the Error message says "Restart Computer.   sorry, we encountered an error during installation.  Please restart your computer and try running link setup again, if you still experience issues, contact quest support. 

we have checked over logs, we have removed all antivirus, and restrictions even as far as trying it in safe mode with network, and we get the same answer.  

can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or missing? 

my computer specs are 

windows 11 version 24H2 latest update

32 gig ram

Intel R Ultra 9 285 2.5 GHz

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 latest drivers

  • You are running with admin permissions (elevated user account) and no modified windows services?
    Some "debloaters" brake specific services that might be required by meta/quest to install.
    It might be as simple as a service that allows you to set up a local server, as meta quest app does have its own server running in the background.
    It might be the install fails as windows rejects setting up the specific services or launching certain apps to work with the app?

    There can be issues that can come up especially when trying to install applications on company devices, so we would recommend you to contact your IT team to have a look if they are blocking any services or even any installations outside the company network. 

     

    Even though your system has the latest specifications and the graphic card, there can be possibility that they might not be supported by the Meta Quest Link App, as the specifications you had mentioned are not on the official list of supported Windows PC requirements.
