Isn't AMD Radeon RX 6400 Supported by Link?

I'm trying to link my Quest 3 to my Windows 11 PC. It's a very new gaming rig.

It has an AMD Radeon RX 6400 which this help document says is preferred hardware.

But when I load the Link software I get the message:

What am I missing. Is RX 6400 not a part of the 6000 series for some uncanny reason? Do I need to buy at least a 6600XT?

Sigh, this is why I stick to software.

What AMD graphics card would you recommend I get for this to work well? I have a tower and I believe I do have a card though I haven't really looked inside yet. From the back my monitors look to be plugged into a card in a PCI slot. My box doesn't look from there to have any AGP slots. Is that a limiting factor?

My terminology may be old and wrong. Maybe modern PCI slots are fast enough or have a wide enough bus that we don't need AGP slots any more. The PC before this one was from 8 years ago. I was going to upgrade the GPU in it, but they put some sort of fan slot in the case and the card I wanted didn't physically fit in the box.  ::sigh::

This box doesn't have any of that foolishness though it is a bit small.

  • It's not going to work I'm afraid. The RX6400 and 6500 do not have a hardware video encoder, which is critical for Link or any of its alternatives.
