Issue with Adding Accounts and App Sharing on Meta Quest

Hello Meta Support, I am experiencing a series of issues regarding account management on my Quest device:

  1. Cannot Add Profile: When trying to add a new account, it shows "You are unable to be added to this device at this time."
  2. App Sharing Error: I cannot enable App Sharing, receiving the error "Something went wrong."
  3. Invite Error: Failed to send invite links with the error "There was a problem sending the invite."

I have checked my internet connection and both device and app are up to date.

      We are not Meta support. You can contact official Meta Quest support here.

      OK, you seem to have tried most of the solutions so your best option now is to contact Meta support directly. You do understand we are not Meta support, we just offer the general options as we don't have access to your account. We just volunteer our help if we can. There seems to be an issue with your account itself or even the registration of the device itself. Did you buy the device new or used and was it from a private seller or Meta distributor? If a device is stolen and then sold to you, the "you're unable to add device" message can arrive.  When you say connecting the app, I assume you are talking about the app on your phone, not one on the PC?

        Thanks for the detailed advice, Maccyb123! To clarify, this is a brand-new device, but I still can't link my account. My earlier mention of the 'app' was a bit confusing—what I meant is that the headset won't pair with my account even though I'm logged in on the web. I'll reach out to Meta Support now. Thanks again!

  • just wondering if you got this fixed, i'm having the same issue and I need to add another account for family.

      Are you trying to add a child account? I had some errors trying to add my daughter's profile to her new headset (using the phone app) after setting it up with my account. What worked was choosing the option to send an invite link by email. I sent it to my own email address. Then I opened up the email on my PC and opened the enclosed link in my web browser. I was able to add her profile from that web page.
