Link cable weirdness

I have my Quest 3s for half a year now, and I'm using it with a USB-A to USB-C link cable, which has not been giving me any issues in this time, but since coming back from a 2 week vacation and updating the software, the Quest only repeatedly plays the 'connected' sound, but neither starts charging nor allows me to link to my PC. I have tried restarting both devices and using a different port, which brought no improvements. However, the quest charges fine with the normal charging cable. Could the charging cable be broken or are there other possible causes for this?

    There have been numerous problems with the updates over the last week or so. I think it might be the update. Read the boards for more information

    We've just come across this post regarding the Link cable issue that you've been experiencing with your Quest 3S. This has been an issue with third-party cables that our Engineers had taken note of and should have resolved within the past week with the latest OS update.

     

    While the official Link cable and charging cable that came with the device are the only officially supported cables and we cannot guarantee the performance or capability of others, we do suggest just making sure that your Quest device is up to date with the latest OS version. You can do so by using the Software Update Tool on our website.
