Meta Horizon App cant pair Quest 2

Hello,

I recently purchased a used Quest 2, and during the initial setup, I'm required to pair it with the Meta Horizon app. However, when I log into the app and attempt to pair the headset, I receive the following error message:

"Relay: Unexpected response payload – check server logs for details."

This appears to be a server-side issue on Meta's end.

I've tried multiple troubleshooting steps — including using a different smartphone, a different Meta account, and a different internet connection — but nothing has worked so far. To make matters more urgent, I need to confirm the device is functioning properly to the seller within 48 hours.

Given that I'm stuck at the pairing screen, how can I verify that the headset is working? Is there any known workaround for this issue, or an estimated timeline for when it might be resolved?

  •  I am experiencing the same issue. Are there any work arounds or is just waiting it out the only option?

  • Having the same issue and beyond frustrated at this point. My kids birthday and he is dying to use it and I am stuck at the pairing stage. 

  • I've been trying to troubleshoot the same thing on the same device for multiple hours now. The agent I'm speaking with is saying that they don't have any knowledge of an internal issue but that they will bring it to the team because there are a lot of us having the same issue.

  • Having the same issue with my quest 2. I saw a similar forum that just said to wait it out.
