Meta Horizon Link Dead for both Air Link and USB cable Link
Like a huge number of you, yesterday the Link between the Quest 3 (and probably 1 and 2 also) will NOT connect to the Meta Horizon Link running on my Windows PC. So, the ability to do PCVR from ones headset is gone.
Apparently, this was broken by Meta sometime in the last 24 hours.
But if you have Virtual Desktop, which uses its own form of linkage, IT STILL WORKS, and you can continue doing PCVR through it! (Not a commercial for Virtual Desktop, I just happen to already have it and use it for Flight Simulations which require a high level of performance in PCVR).
It is a stunning failure that in 24 hours a company that has sold MILLIONS of these VR headsets can completely destroy the ability to use them for PCVR! How does a failure of software development, testing, and deployment get inflicted on the ENTIRE (Meta) WORLD of PCVR in ONE day?
Yeah, I know that Meta will fix this fairly quickly, but some of us use these headsets in a work environment. And those HOURS spent yesterday trying to fix something that was working fine the day before are lost forever. I know that Meta has some very fine, competent people working on these products. Someone needs to put THEM in charge.
