For some reason, my Meta Quest 2 has decided to not connect to my home WiFi network completely today. It was working just fine yesterday, as I was on in the evening. But now, even though it shows the WiFi network, the strength on it is excellent, it's working on all my other devices and the three computers within my household, it just gives me the "Failed to connect to WiFi" on my Quest 2 every single time. I've tried all the "general solutions" that have been suggested... restart your headset, update your Oculus app, update your headset, reset your router, forget the network and reconnect, etc, etc... Everything short of a factory reset, which I'm trying to AVOID, as it's now a MESS to even set up an account anymore. I don't want to have to go thru all this if I don't have to. To say this is frustrating me is an understatement. I've not experienced issues like this over the years I've owned my headset, and now, I can't do anything but use it as a paperweight at the moment. If there is anyone that has any type of information on why this is occuring, please enlighten me. I'm at my wits end here.

We would like to request that you try to perform a factory reset. Performing a Factory reset will wipe all information and data off the device. Some of this data can be restored by enabling Cloud Backups beforehand. However, keep in mind that while Cloud Backup is available to all Meta Quest developers, it's up to developers to decide whether to enable this feature for their app and what data is backed up. You can find which installed apps have Cloud Backups enabled on the Cloud Backups page of your Meta account profile. Once you've set up Cloud Backups, ensure your device is fully charged, then proceed with the directions. Factory Reset from Meta Quest mobile app: Open the Meta Quest app on your phone. Tap Devices in the bottom menu. Tap the headset connected to your phone. Tap Advanced Settings. Tap Factory Reset and then Reset. We hope this helps! Hey TheRealJadeVR! No Wi-Fi on your Quest 2 could lead to you missing out on content we wouldn't want you to miss out on, so we'd love to help out! We always try to do our best to keep a factory reset as a last resort for our userbase, since we know the concerns and inconvenience that comes along with that.

Can you think of anything that might have changed between when it was working, and when it started shooting back the "Failed to connect to Wi-Fi" error?

If possible, are you able to connect the device to any other available connection, such as a hotspot?

Any new ISP, router, modem, air bridge, mesh network setup, frequency change (2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, 6Ghz), etc.?

Does your network have any captive portal, or is it a standard home connection? Captive portals are web pages that prompt you to interact with them before connecting you to the internet. These are commonly used by public Wi-Fi networks in businesses, airports, hotels, and other venues that offer free Wi-Fi hotspots. This type of network will not work to setup your Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest, but may work after your initial setup.

We know you've given quite a few things a fair shake, but some users have been able to fix this with a hard reboot:

Turn off your headset.

Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.

Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Boot Device and press the power button.

Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

Hopefully that works out, but if not, we'll see what we can do with the info from our other inquiries!

  I ended up having to get a replacement because nothing worked. SMH. Thank goodness it was still in warranty

  im having this issue. nothing has changed, it worked earlier today, and its saying IP Configuration failure. it was all working normally, it is a standard home connection, its just so sudden at around 4am. i booted it, i tried troubleshooting i'd seen on the web, nothings working.

  I am not the original user but i do have this same issue and i have tried to connect to my phones hotspot and that works...the issue is my home wifi ive been always used

I have the same issue described by previous users. I tried the above troubleshooting but the problem is not yet solved.
what is the information that I can provide so that you may support please?
my home wifi is not detected by Quest 2 , I should hotspot with my iPhone and this is not the best solution for playing or navigating on Quest 2. I may need to reset the driver of the quest wifi or an update from your side is required here to resolve this incident

    I have the same problem as the previous users but none of the solutions have worked, I've turned it off and on, rebooted it, forgot the network, rebooted it again etc. Every time i attempt to connect it says theres something wrong with the hardware, but I've used the same internet before with no problems, I’d update it but I need internet for that 😭😭. My oculus has never had this problem before so im just dumbfounded. My sibling has the exact same kind of oculus but she can still connect to the wifi in our house so there’s nothing wrong with the wifi.

Having the same problem as the previous several people here. Everything was working yesterday and now i am trying to connect to a different WIFI and headset is not even trying to connect to anything. When I select the network, add the password and then click to Connect button nothing happens.
I have followed the advice from above "Boot device", but still nothing is happening.
Could you please help ASAP

    Thank you for getting back to me, however your response does not help at all.
    Even if I try to connect to my phone's connection, same thing happens. I have not disabled anything on the headset, have been using it as default.
    I want to take the headset to another building and connect to the internet connection there, that is all. And currently does not letting me to connect to any other internet connection, as I mentioned including my phone connection.
    Hope you can help me to resolve this asap.

    Thanks for providing us with that information, bgen.2022. We want you to be able to take your headset anywhere and be able to enjoy using it. There's a lot of different questions and steps to try provided on this thread. A few headset related steps we can try:
    
    Does your router have dual band disabled? (Disabling dual band helps keep the headset on the same channel as the router)
    
    Are there any captive portals that you need to access to connect to the network?
    
    Do you have any third party accessories connected to your headset?
    
    Have you tried hard Rebooting?
    
    Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound
    
    If the boot-up sound is not heard:
    
    Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
    
    Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
    
    Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

I have the same problem to, yesterday evertithing was working fine but today sudennly when i tried connect to my airlink just show what my computer was offline, i tried forget and connect again but for some reason when i input the password and click in connect not happens, please help us, its looks like a bug who affected many users, its dont looks like a hardware error.

I made a little test and works, i removed the password of my wi-fi connection and try to connect like this, with a wifi connection without password, and works, but if i configure a new password for my wi-fi he just dont connect anymore, and even when my wifi was without password and i reconnect my oculus, my computer still don't working via Airlink Connection, until yesterday everthing was normal.

I am having similar problems. My house has 2 different networks for different areas. My quest has always worked on both, but for some reason today, it won't connect to one of them. When I select the WiFi network, it says connect at the side, I click and enter the password, click connect again and nothing happens. It doesn't attempt to connect, doesn't say that anything has failed, just goes back to the WiFi overview screen where it shows the network and and I can click connect, then it just repeats. The headset will connect to my other network fine and other devices are connecting without problem so I know it isn't the headset per say or the Internet. I have tried restarting routers, checking for any updates (there are none) and doing a power cycle, but the same results. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hello, yes I have 'forgotten the network' and tried from scratch but get the same results. Just stuck in a cycle of recognising the network is there, being able to click to connect, being prompted for the password and then finding myself back at the available networks screen seeing it is available to connect to. When I try my other network, it comes up saying obtaining IP address and then says connected. I get none of that with my other network.
    The setup is a WiFi router downstairs (the network which works) and then a WiFi access point upstairs which basically boosts the signal. This access point works fine with phone/laptop and is visible to the VR headset, but it just doesn't seem to want to connect to it.

I found a better solution without reset factory, go to profile with click on your avatar, then click Connect to wifi, then select your wifi and enter your password

  Im not sure if I have fully understood or followed your instructions (I couldnt see an option to connect to wifi from the avatar menu), but after accessing the avatar menu and then going back into the wifi connection option (which may be what you intended for me to do anyway as it could be interpreted either way), it has now accepted my password and connects to the wifi, thus solving my problem. Thankyou so much.

  This worked for me. Maybe it was just an UI bug. Don't trust MetaQuestSupport, they are a bunch of incompetent, follow this solution instead

Please forgive me, I am not a native English speaker.
This is my solution:
1.Click on any application that requires a WiFi connection.
(On my device, it is STEAMVR.)
2.In the application interface, find and click the WiFi button.
3.Find your WiFi connection (this WiFi connection interface should be different from the main interface).
