Meta Quest 3 Suddenly Not Connecting to PC

I’ve been using my Meta Quest 3 with my PC for a while now without any issues. I was able to copy files back and forth between the headset and the PC just fine. But recently, it suddenly stopped connecting.

When I plug in the USB cable, I still get the notification bubble on the headset asking me to allow access. I press it as usual, but nothing shows up on the PC — no drive, no device, nothing.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • factory reset both the headset and the PC
  • Tried multiple USB cables (including the one that used to work)
  • Verified that my phone and other devices connect to the PC without any issues

Still, the Quest 3 won’t show up on the computer. Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas on what might be causing it or how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi there AjtR90,

We've just come across your post regarding the issues you are having connecting your Meta Quest 3 with your PC. We know how important this is to you, as you want to have the best possible VR experience.

We really appreciate all of the troubleshooting steps you performed, including trying various USB cables. Please attempt the following steps:

    1. Ensure your PC meets the minimum system requirements needed for PCVR
    2. Ensure all cables are properly plugged into the PC in the right ports.
    3. Whitelist the Meta Quest Link app in their antivirus/firewall program.
    4. Link does not support the use of multiple dedicated graphics cards. If you have a CrossFire or an SLI configuration, please remove one of the graphics cards.
    5. Although some graphics cards can support multiple monitors, the Link can potentially experience issues if more than one monitor is connected.
    6. Please update your graphics drivers

Please note that the Link cable should be disconnected from the computer prior to updating or reinstalling the graphics driver. After an update, the PC should be restarted to make sure the update was successful prior to reconnecting the Link cable.
