Meta quest 3 unable connect any wifi

Hello, please help me, few days ago I got quest 3, but from yesterday I having a problem. My quest 3 not connecting to any WiFi, it saying that WiFi saved, if I press again connect, than again I need to enter the password, so it not connecting and every time I pressed connect - asking a password

  • Hello. Two days ago I ran into a similar problem: Quest 3 does not connect to any of the Wi-Fi networks that are offered in the Settings -> Wi-Fi menu. A solution was soon found. It is necessary to forget all previously saved Wi-Fi networks. Next, when you restart the headset, a page should be displayed with the text that there is no Internet connection. On the same page, you can click on the link in the Wi-Fi network selection menu. This menu is very different in its design from the similar menu that is in the Settings section, and in it the headset easily connects to any network.

Hey there, Blacky007! Thank you so much for sharing your report! We want to make sure that you're able to connect to Wi-Fi and use your headset as intended, so let's work together to get to the bottom of this!

Let's go over a few things, first:

    • Are you using a Wi-Fi 6/6e network?
    • If you have a dual-band router, disable the dual-band feature of the router so the headsets can be on the same channel.
    • Does your network have a captive portal?
    • Where is your router located in relation to the headset?
    • Which troubleshooting steps have you tried already?
      • It's okay if you haven't done any yet, we just don't want to make you repeat anything if it is not necessary.

We look forward to hearing back from you!

  • i ran into this yesterday too, started with a 6GHz Wi-Fi connection (which repeatedly failed per the outstanding issue with v65) then once this bug appears you can't connect to -any- network (i have separate 2.5, 5, and 6GHz SSIDs and tried each of these). the networks show up in the previous connections list with a note that they are not available, and in my case they claim the authentication mechanism is none in spite of the password prompt/entry when attempting to connect which seems like a relevant clue.

    - no captive portal and a good signal from the router, the connection works well with other devices at the same location (and had been working okay with the Q3 previously).
    - clearing the previous connection entries has no effect, and restarting or power cycling the headset does not resolve the issue (it seems like some invalid configuration has been persisted to the WiFi controller).
    - a factory reset of the device got back to a point where i can connect to the 5 GHz network (though 6GHz connectivity remains broken).

Mine is acting similarly. I am unable to connect to any new networks. I couldn't even connect to my hotspot, so I made it have the same SSID and password as my home network and it connected just fine. I noticed that when I tried connect to the new network and it failed, when I tried to edit it, the security was set to none. I agree this seems to be a bug.

Hey there, Enzideout. We can understand how this can impact your gameplay experience and just your VR experience in general, but not to worry, we are here to help out the best we can.

Have you attempted the following steps as stated in our previous post on here?

We can provide some more steps below for you to try out:

        • Reboot the headset.
        • Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect communication (such as headset covers, etc.)
        • Try connecting to a different network.
        • Perform a factory reset.

As well as disable the dual-band feature of the router router so the headsets can be on the same channel

Give these a shot and let us know if any of them work for you.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Hello r777466. Glad to hear we've got some connectivity going again! We suggest kepping the network as clear as possible when it comes to connecting multiple devices and resume using the network that works for your headset. If you have any further questiosn or still feel you need assistance, we're still here to support you. Best regards!

      Thank you! That actually worked!

Just a small addition, as it didn't immediately give me the page saying there is no internet connection:

click on your profile on the bottom left and you'll get it.

Thank you! Ok so the solution is to not use the normal UI for wifi connection but to go via the user profile connection, which is different and actually works for some reason

I selected a new Wifi from the list and the connection was dropped. In the connection information "Security" was always "No security". Finally I deleted this connection and successfully created a new one with the "Plus" button where you need to enter the SSID along with the security type.

  • My headset just arrived today and it simply will not connect to WiFi to do its update, it says its connected on WiFi, I've tried a different router, I've tried Side upload option, I have switched it all on off reboot you name it, plus it is just constantly switching  itself on and off again?? I have got nowhere in 3 hrs

      Hello mattcob2485,

We just came across your post about the problems you’re having connecting your new headset to your Wi‑Fi, and we understand you’ve already been struggling with this for the past three hours. Let’s take a look at how we can fix this!

There is an article on our website for troubleshooting the initial setup for Wi-Fi, if you take a look at: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi initial setup, alternatively, you can try these steps below again:

      • Reset Wi-Fi on your mobile phone by turning it off and on again.
      • Reboot your headset - With the headset on, hold the power button on the right-hand side of the headset until it's been prompted to a shut-down screen. Then select Restart.

On that page, you'll see we have a tool called "RouteThisHelps" and it's good for troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues, if you want to head over to this article Route This Helps Wi-Fi, if done correctly, this will show where the issues are within the network.

We hope this was helpful! But in the case that you still can't connect to the internet, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

  • Hello. My Meta Quest 3s arrived today. When I initially set it up, I see a message saying "Limited Access" under the network name when trying to connect to various Wi-Fi networks. I can't proceed past the setup process and can't link the device to my phone.

RouteThisHelps didn't yield any results; my network is fine.
