metaquest 3s

after turning on my grandsons metaquest 3s headset, he can't get beyond the start screen showing his avatar. He can't use the controllers to click on anything so he can't get to any of his apps.  I replaced his controller batteries without luck.  I also tried to disconnect and reconnect the controllers. Any suggestions?

    That's normal after a software update.

    Put the controllers down and use hand tracking and finger pinch to select the avatar (or you can also use Vol+/- to move the tracking dot and 'power' button to select). After the Loft loads up, pick up the controllers and their firmware will automatically update, and they should start working again.
