My Quest 1 has a Meta Oculus profile but doesn't appear under Devices. Is that normal?

I have set up my Quest 1 with a Meta account. The Quest's UI only shows a Profile name (@…), no other account information. I can access my purchased games there, too.

On https://secure.oculus.com/my/quest/  I can see those same games for the Quest. So, the account I use there knows about my original Quest account and the installed games.

However, when I click the "Devices" link on that page, it opens https://auth.meta.com/settings/my/devices/ but that page shows NO devices ("A Meta Quest device isn't registered to your account right now. Set up a headset to get started.").

Is that expected behavior?

Or what might be wrong that prevents my Quest 1 to appear in the meta account?

The link "personal details" (going to https://accountscenter.meta.com/?returnURL=profile ) also clearly knows about my @… Profile, so that connection is set up.

I just wonder if something is missing.

Well, I can see my two Quest 3 headsets, but not the two Rift S (now obsolete) that I bought in 2020 and threw in the trash. But I can see all four headsets in the Meta Horizon app on my phone.

Can you see your device on this other page:

    Devices | Meta Store (en-gb)

Otherwise, I think it's normal behaviour, as the Quest 1 is a discontinued device that is no longer officially supported nor under warranty.

  • That page also just says: "We couldn't find any devices associated with your Meta account."

Otherwise, I think it's normal behaviour

    That's just your guess, right?

I rather hope to get an authoritative answer, or at least someone with a Quest 1 seeing their device there, meaning that it _should_ be appearing for me as well.

Okay, thank you – that sounds more like what I was looking for.

I can also confirm that the Q1 appears in my iOS app. So, I guess it's just another case of lame handling by Meta's staff (I ran already into multiple issues and misleading information in the past 2 hours setting things up with Oculus Link etc, and it's all just dumb stuff).

(Also: Electronics don't belong in the trash for environmental reasons, unless you live in the U.S. where they don't give a **bleep** any more, I guess ;^)
