Hey Zexeonyo and Choleni - thank you for the replies. This is somewhat reassuring, but I am also concerned that this could end up masking a problem. I just bought the new headset. If I return it within 14 days, I should get a full refund, whereas if I hold out for the chance this will be fixed later, I might find that I can't get a refund and the issue isn't fixed!
I bought this headset mainly to play PC games with, so I am gutted that it doesn't work for that purpose.
Before I return, I will try a USB-C to USB-A high speed / 3.2 cable.
If you're not forced to use cable link, you can also try airlink.
For a wireless connection you can also use Steam Link (free) or Virtual Desktop (not free) to play PCVR... just in case Meta Air Link doesn't work.😉
