Oculus app stuck on “pairing your quest 2” screen

Title really says it all. My oculus is stuck on the paring your quest screen. My phone says it’s connected but the app is stuck. I have already tried deleting and reinstalling the app and turning on and off Bluetooth so I don’t know what to do.

    Connect the headset and phone via bluetooth. (+ the phone and Quest must be connected to the same Wi-Fi access point, say, both to 5 GHz). This helped me and I started broadcasting to my phone. Quest 3 v59.

    Hey deerhunters49 here's a few more standard troubleshooting steps to try:

     

    • Turn your headset off
    • Delete the Oculus App
    • Open Bluetooth settings on your phone, select your headset, and "forget device" to clear the cache
    • Re-install the Oculus App
    • Turn your headset back on and restart the pairing process.

    Things to note when pairing:

    1. Make sure your headset and your phone are connected to the same WiFi
    2. Check to make sure your headset is nearby and turned on.
    3. Check your Wi-Fi signal. If your signal isn't strong, try moving closer to your wireless router (internet connection device).
    4. Make sure that your app is up-to-date (since you've downloaded a fresh version it should be)

      When opening Bluetooth settings I don't see my headset. I've already factory reset more than 2 times. Nothing seems to work.

        Hey there KhangoWang! We see you're having troubles getting your headset paired to your mobile device, which is never fun. Here are some options you can try out:

        • Check your Wi-Fi signal. If your signal isn't strong, try moving closer to your wireless router (internet connection device).
        • Check to make sure your headset and mobile phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
        • Make sure that your app is up-to-date.

      I’ve done this about 2 times or so but it still show the pairing your quest screen I’m still frustrated

    Same Problem here. The headset connects automatically but then the screens stucks with the code screen.

     

    Have you used another account on your headset? I switched from a friend's account, resetted the headset and started with my phone and another meta account.

     

    I dont know if the old account was a oculus account. But i think so.

     

    I was wondering if this month be a problem because of the merged accounts or so on?

    Same with me. Although it just says couldn’t pair try again. I have tired it for a week.

        Why don't you guys just let people log in on the headset?  Creating accounts, setting up apps, and linking them to the headset is some of the worst user experience I've ever had with a problem.  It's taken me 6 hours to set this thing up and it's still not connecting to the Bluetooth.

        So my other account can pair up it’s called Grey2130 but my other one can’t. It doesn’t say try again. It’s stuck in the pairing screen for a while. I have tired everything but it is what it is.

    .I have 3 Oculus Quest 2 VR headsets and they have been a nightmare to use since day 1. We put them away last year and just got them out of storage to try again. Same **bleep**ing problems; cannot activate/pair/get past first setup. SOOO MANY HOOPS and steps and logins and verifications and passwords and -go **bleep** yourself facebook 
     
    I'm dumping these pieces of **bleep** on ebay and washing my hands forever of this nightmare

If not, please perform a factory reset and be sure to have Cloud Backup enabled so you won't lose all your data.

    Exactly the same issue with my quest 2! Meta sure knows how to upset long standing VR fans - 

    They couldn't mess things up any worse if they tried.

    They refused to send me a replacement after all attempts failed to pass the pairing screen. Apparently, they can only ship to the country you purchased the headset from. Also, they were pretty cocky about warranty agreements. Can't wait until someone starts a lawsuit. You can't roll out updates that break devices and then talk about warranty limitations. I would have been glad to not update if that were the case.

    Same problem with Samsung Android S20 FE and the oculus quest 2. After entering the paring number, the app is just stuck to paring with the refresh icon turning forever.

        How do you connect the headset to the same wifi when you can't get past the pairing page to get to the wifi settings?

        There is no wifi option, just pairing numbers, but pairing always fails.

         

        Newly downloaded app, logged in with facebook, android 10, factory reset headset, good strong fast wifi.

        Tried with 3 different phones. all cashes cleared.

        I even bought a second headset but we have exactly the same problem.

        What now. ??

        Hey, thanks for the steps. I had already try it at home. And just 2 minutes ago I tried it again at my parent house and it still did not work.

        However, I read somewhere that if I already paired with a phone I may encounter problem like this. I think last year I paired it with my samsung s8 so it could be consistent. In those case, the post suggest that only a factory reset would solve my problem which I dont want to do since it is not relevant enough.

    I had the same problem, I believe it’s a firmware update error, so after lots research and repairing the controllers via the APP i had no joy, it was just the left controller that wouldn’t pair properly and because I did a factory reset the headset got stuck at the pair screen so finally I contacted customer support via the live online chat, they were very helpful and sorted a replacement controller for me, once I’ve sent off the faulty one for review.  all I had to do was give them the serial numbers of the controllers and the headset box and well as purchase invoice (it’s 18 months old, no extended warranty) the postage is pre-paid to! I will post the controller in the morning hopefully it’ll be a quick turnaround
