Oculus Quest 2 Random Controller Drift

Got my Quest a couple weeks ago and the left controller is drifting to the right, even though I have not been rough with it at all. Most likely dirtiness or a bug with the controller or headset. If its the latter, fix it in the next hardware update or at least address that you are working on a fix, Oculus. Here is everything I have tried so far:

Possible fixes on Oculus' end:
Add a controller recalibration system, similar to the Nintendo Switch's
Add dead zone options

SOLUTION TO CONTROLLER DRIFT!!!

Ok so I was able to fix this... If you are having this problem, all you need to do - and yes it's this simple - push down the joystick and blow into it. It's that easy. You may get lightheaded from it, but it worked for me. It will come back eventually, so when it does... just do it again. I have only had drift twice, so not many times have I had to do this solution, but so far for me, there IS a 100% success rate...

Cloud saves on games via facebook accounts could help people who need to factory reset and have no choice.

Multiple accounts on one Oculus Quest 2 would be nice. My brother is left handed and it can get annoying having to change the settings on some games because he plays with strange settings and is left-handed

      It won't fix. if you do fix it will those cleaning solutions it will only last like an hour. Just buy new analog sticks for the quest 2 for like 15 to 20 bucks. I've been dealing with this issue for 3 year and I've been constantly cleaning the left controller but stick drift stays. It make my game completely unplayable. I've decided to borrow a friend's controller but realized my quest was disconnected from my phone and my quest won't give the code till I update it because I really want all my information to get stolen that bad. This is terrible customer service to give us a busted product then if we ask for help you given us solutions that almost never work. If I point out that I can play it my fault because dust is in it even tho its been in a clean charging station for 3 years and cleaned even used so I shouldhave no reason to have an issue but I still do.

    This has been happening to me and just looking up "oculus quest 2 left controller drift" you will find a lot of others too. I'm going to try this later! Thank you so much

    Thank you. I had already contacted Oculus support and contemplated buying a new controller but the good ole lowing it with air saved me so THANK YOU.

    Really Oculus? Are you asking a video of the issue? This is the most common issue I’m seeing on forums. And by the way the blowing works.

    You are a life saver, I was already getting frustrated and with the 6 weeks time to return the device for a design fault it’s just unbelievable.

    my drift has got so bad that my stick only goes right no matter how much I clean it or blow on it it doesn't work

        Hey there! We understand you are having an issue with your controller drifting and we want to be able to help. We would like to recommend that you try unpairing and repairing your controllers to your device, as well as taking the batteries out and reinserting them into your device. If this does not help please feel free to let us know so we can look into this further for you!

      Yeah, I've tried contact cleaner, it only works for a short while then the drift comes back, they should make better controllers.

      Just buy new analog stick or controller. It won't be fix that way. They should fix the issue and release the fix but of course they don't. They rather make us deal with it. They're customers.

        I mean by release a fix as a controller we wouldn't have to pay 100 dollars for that won't break after the first few months

    My RH controller has drifted since day one of buying. Spoke with customer services who have agreed to replace. But they want me to post controller to them to check before sending a replacement, which may be a refurbished controller. Not happy with this as this was bought new 4 weeks ago, and dont see why i should accept being unable to use my Oculus whilst i wait for faulty goods to be replaced and also potentially get a second hand controller. Very poor customer service im afraid !!!

    Just wanted to say THANKS this worked for me after MONTHS of trying to figure out what the heck was happening. Just blowing on it didn't work, I used a hard plastic straw and used it to blow directly into the joystick while pressing it down - the concentrated blowing seemed to do the trick. Compressed air with the straw nozzle would also work.

     

    Oculus needs to fix this - it seems to happen to a lot of people and always on the left side.
