oculus quest 2

i have recently started playing with my quest 2 and trying to connect it to my gaming lap top:

acer nitro v 15 ryzen 7000 geforce rtx 4060.

every time i try to connect to the laptop for the desktop it says that my pc isn't compatible but my lap top meets or exceeds every spec requirement?

not sure if i need to work around the issue by digging into the setting in vr or the settings on the laptop or maybe there is just something wrong with the code that needs to be adjusted or fixed. any suggestons?

You may need to disable the CPU integrated graphics in the laptop, or try the SteamLink or Virtual Desktop streaming apps.

    Hello blueandgreentoad!

Thanks for contacting us, we are going to do everything we can to help resolve this for you. What we understand is that your gaming laptop meets the requirements however it's still throwing up errors to say that it's incompatible. This is more common than you think so not to worry, we will get to the bottom of this.

Here's some information that will be helpful to know:

Gaming laptops usually have two graphics cards as you've mentioned both of them in your post. With our PCVR, you must have the compatible graphics card selected as default. You can check the supported cards here:

Additionally, here are some steps you can complete to change the default graphics card to the correct one:
There are a few methods we can attempt to ensure the Meta Quest Link app is using the correct GPU. Some of these are listed below and should be tried in the order in which they appear.

You can use Windows to manually assign which GPU is used by a specific process. This should have little to no side effects. To do so:

    • Close the Meta Quest Link app
    • Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings
    • Select Desktop App from the drop down and click Browse
    • Select the OculusClient.exe
    • (By default, this will be installed C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-client\OculusClient.exe)
    • Click Options > High Performance > Save

Ensure the "High Performance" option has your dedicated graphics at the top of this menu.

Finally, if you encounter any more problems or this doesn't resolve your issue, please don't hesitate to contact us privately so we can collect some additional information from you to give you the best specific response to your issue.
