Oculus rift cv1 connected but no display

I just recently bought a new pc that i am currently using to make this post and took this screenshot on. My meta quest link app says my display is working and says my headset is connected and active but my headset it showing the orange light and is black when I cover the sensor. Whenever i plug in my old pc and plug in all my stuff it works ive tried mutiple factory resets, wiping all oculus files from my computer and reinstalling oculus app and ive reinstalled the app multiple times. i used an hdmi to display adapter and tried the normal hdmi and still nothing. Ive also tried adding the ovrserver64x to my graphics settings and still nothing i really have no idea how to fix this.

My new pc specs are:
NVIDIA  GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-core

      Hey wa

It's great you already tried a bit of troubleshooting for yourself, thanks also for the amount of detail you have provided. You could try this next:

      • Head over to your Windows Settings.
      • Click on System, and then select Display.
      • Scroll down to the bottom and click on Graphics settings.
      • In the drop-down menu, choose Classic app.
      • Click the Browse button.
      • Find and select the ovrserver_x64.exe file.
      • Once it's added, click on it and select Options.
      • Choose Power saver.
      • Click Save.

Just a quick tip! Double-check that your integrated graphics device is listed at the top of the Power saver menu to make sure the setting has been properly applied.

Given your PC is news ensure you have up-to date drivers, although we are sure you probably already have. But just incase.

If you are still getting trouble come talk to us in a PM to see how we may help you further.

Hey there, we hear you're also having the same problems with your PC connection not showing a screen or only showing a black screen, we'd be happy to help you out with that!

There are a few steps that we can take to help resolve this problem, the first one would be checking if all of your cables are properly plugged into your PC. For your Rift S, please ensure that your USB 3.0 and DisplayPort are plugged into your PC.

If that's not the cause of the problem, then we'd like to ask a few question to get to the bottom of this and help fix it.

      Could you tell us:

      • Do you use an adapter or cable extender? If you are, then please try removing them as long as they're not necessary, as they might interfere with the connection, however if a cable extender is needed for your setup, then we'd recommend using the adapter with the monitor instead of the headset.
      • What type of monitor do you use for PCVR? Rift is designed to work in tandem with a computer monitor, though some TV's may work they are not a supported form of secondary display, so if you do use one, could you please try with a PC monitor.
      • How many monitors do you have connected to your PC? If it's more than one, then this might also cause issues connection causing the black screen, the only truly compatible setup would be with 1 monitor.

We look forward to your response! However, if you're looking for Italian support, then we'd advise you to reach out to our support team via our website by clicking here, they can provide you support in your preferred language.

      We hope this helped!

  • I Have exacly the same Issue, CV1 working fine. but connect it today and blank screen. I see that the giroscope worke because in Asseto Corsa benchmark the camera moves in 6dof; also the panel backligth turns on but no image get render in the Headset.
When I start Steam VR the headset gets detected as a secondary screen and duplicate desktop image to the lense (no hdmi cable issue). I've neve had done this before, but enabling direct mode again the screen renders nothing, same as when starting Meta Qest Link.

Using Oculus mirror no image get mirrored, and when running the benchmark there's no GPU load in the Oculus process (OVR*)

    I've:

Rolled back oculus driver to and archived old version
    Rolled back GPU driver
Change HDMI port in the laptop for a DP plus adapter
Uninstall plus instalation swipe for GPU and Oculus software.

nothing works, and the headset is functional because it renders the desktop when starting SteamVR (not expected behavior but it discard cable issues) and the 6DOF works as expected.

Also tried the Beta channel, same issue... no video gets render to screen. If in SteamVR i disable direct mode then desktop gets rendered in bouth panels confirming hdmi video... all up to date.
