You used to be able to pair controllers without the phone app, I don't have the phone app and I was able to pair new controllers... However recently I got stick drift and had to pair them again and I can't unless I download the app on my phone now... The phone app is probably spyware that they are trying to force people to download or some **bleep**... Fkn Facebook -_-
