We understand how frustrating it can be when your right controller isn’t working, especially when you're eager to get started again with your Meta Quest 2 after not using it a couple of years.
Unfortunately, the initial setup process does require both the left and right controllers to be paired. The system is designed to detect both before it can proceed, so using only the left controller won’t allow you to complete setup.
One practical workaround is to temporarily borrow a working right controller from a friend, family member. You’d only need it briefly, just long enough to get through the setup. Once that’s done, you can return the borrowed controller and continue using your headset.
We know this isn’t ideal, but we hope this helps you move forward with setting up the headset.
