PC links of all kind disconnect after loading games

Title says it all. Recently my problems arose after a brutal crash that damaged my headset and my pc. Only recently have I fixed the pc and got it working, but now my pc links no longer work.

For one, wireless links disconnect after loading into an online multiplayer game, such as VRChat. Another issue is that my headset treats a USB connecting to it via the pc link cable as charging only, and not connecting as a pc link cable.

My theory is that a factory reset would fix this issue. Is this true, or will there be other hurdles and hoops I have to jump through to fix this?

    Hi there,

Thanks for posting into our forum. We see you're having some connectivity issues with both Air Link and the Link cable since a bad crash on your PC, and we'd like to try and help you out! So since there's a few issues here, we'll break them down into sections below:

    Air Link Troubleshooting:

    • Re-Pairing Air Link
      • In the Quest headset, navigate to the Settings menu
      • Ensure "Air Link" is disabled/toggled off
      • Restart both the Quest and the PC, and re-pair the Quest to the PC
    • Hard Reboot, Restart PC, Restart Router
      •  Restart the router, then the PC, and finally the Meta Quest in this order.
    • Try other Wi-Fi Connections
      • Attempt to connect using a different network connection such as a different Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot, if possible.

    Quest Link Troubleshooting:

    • Ensure your Link connection is properly established
      • Open the Meta Quest Link app on your computer.
      • Turn on your Quest headset.
      • Plug your USB 3 cable into a USB 3 port on your PC and then plug the other end into your headset.
      • A message displays in VR prompting you to Allow access to data. Select Deny. If you mistakenly 'Allow' the prompt, you must unplug your USB cable from the Quest and plug it back in.
      • When prompted to Enable Meta Quest Link, select Enable to begin remote rendering using Meta Quest Link.
    • Ensure Air Link is disabled in Settings on the headset.
    • Confirm your USB power settings
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand the universal serial bus controllers section at the bottom of the list.
      • For each item listed under universal serial bus controllers:
      • Right click and select Properties.
      • Navigate to Power Management.
      • Ensure that the options to save power are deselected.
      • Not all these listings will have these Power Management options, so skip ones that do not, and move onto the next item in the list until completed.

If none of these steps seem to resolve the issues for you, please let us know and we can continue the steps further!
