You may have disabled the MTP alert by clicking on the option on the alert. In which case provided you have a developer account and enabled developer mode on you headset you can re-enable MTP in the developer settings.
If this doesn't work and you have Sidequest or ADB installed on you Windows machine (Sidequest in the advanced setup installs ADB) you can (from command window) issue the command:
[path to adb\]adb shell svc usb setFunctions mtp
Or if you have purchased a license for Quest Games Optimizer you can use it to open the Android settings app on you headset and go into the developer settings for Default USB configuration and set it to "File Transfer". You may need to enable Android developer options by tapping 7 times on the build number in "About Headset" first.

After updating to version 79, my quest isnt showing up in Windows after clicking the connection prompt. So Im not able to transfer data via USB cable.
I suggest most users avoid enrolling into Quest PTC or meta link pc app beta.
Same goes with Developer accounts. If you are a longtime user you may find reasons to use this, but most don't need this and it often ends up causing more problems.- TruebsalExplorer
I am aware that the beta can contain bugs. I have mainly written here so that the bugs are known and don't end up in the release version.
Truebsal Ya, I used to think the same. Unfortunately most PTC bugs I reported never got fixed. I’ve found it best to just stick to non-PTC and do bug reports afterwards. Anyway, please feel free to do whatever you think’s best. Cheers
