So until now ive been able to just connect the link cable and use my headset on the pc freely now suddenly the pc app wont even recognize the headsets been plugged in, which kinda sucks since all my games are on the pc so basically cant do anything with my headset until a new update or a fix unless i want to buy the games over again. Not sure what to do to fix it

Hey AryaSvitkona, could you confirm which update you're on at this moment? The last update for this issue was around 57.0.0.254.153. I want to confirm that detail and if any other updates have been completed. I want to make sure I bring this up to our engineer team as quickly as possible.

I have been unable to connect oculus quest to my pc as well. I have the original quest model. I always used to get an "allow connection" prompt when I used to connect device to pc, but I do not see this anymore after recent update on the headset. I found these instructions for if headset refuses to connect, but they do not work as I do NOT see developer option anywhere inside the settings/system menu.
And I do not see the oculus device in WINDOWS device manager when connected to device by USB.
Strange.
If file transfer does not work for you, try the following to troubleshoot the problem:
Make sure you are using the Quest 2/Pro with your Admin account.
In your headset, go to Setting > System > Developer and make sure USB Connection Dialog is enabled.
Restart both the Quest 2/Pro and your PC.
Use a differenct USB cable.
Try a different USB port on your PC.
Try to connect your Quest 2/Pro to another PC.
If it still does not work, contact Meta's support here.

  As you might already know from all the replies, I have a Quest 2 and I have this same issue. I looked in the settings and system of my !QUEST!, and found developer and USB Connection Dialogue. It was on but maybe this helps?

    Hi. Well I have had this frustrating issue for a while recently. My only solution after trying all the resets suggested, was one that many probably don't want to consider. In my case having few things installed on the troublesome PC, I reinstalled Windows 11 and also installed the very latest driver for my NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3060ti. I have not re-installed Virtual Desktop yet however. Providing I connect and power up the PC and the headset in the right order It works.
    Here are some anomolies however:
    I have a second slightly lower spec PC in the CPU and GPU department that has never displayed the same reluctance to connect to the Quest 2 and connects instantly. The only aspect of the troublesome PC that remains unresolved is that Windows is nagging me to update to a August 2023 cumulative update since the reinstall. The well behaved PC is also lacking a similar update. Could recent Windows updates have anything to do with connection issues? My connection problems don't go back that far. Cable link and Air Link both work now.
    Any thoughts anyone?

  Make sure you are on at least V59.
  Also Meta thought it was a good idea to hide the connection prompt in the headset. It no long comes to the forefront on the screen it's hidden in the notifications, this is so stupid they need to update this.

When this happens

Either the Oculus Service (ovrservice) isn't running or the Oculus drivers need to be reloaded. I'm on mobile and too difficult to type the instructions right now

I'm having the same issue, was teching with my Quest 2 this morning and it was connected to my comp just fine, I restarted the quest 2, and when it booted back up it can't connect to both the occulus app, or anything else I was using. I just wanted to get Air Link working and now I feel like the system is half bricked for no reason.
Did you have any success fixing the issue?

  Hi there Parasaurolophus387, we see you are having issues connecting your Quest 2 to the Oculus app. PCVR can be very finicky, and we want to be able to help get you back into PCVR as soon as possible! Can you please attempt the following:
  
  Repair the Oculus PC Application:
  
  Go to www.oculus.com/setup and click Download Oculus software.
  
  Select Repair.
  
  If Windows asks you if you’re sure you want to open this file, click Yes.
  
  If Windows Defender prompts Windows protected your PC, click More info and then click Run anyway.
  
  If your antivirus software restricts the file from opening, temporarily disable your AV and continue.
  
  Please remember to re-enable your antivirus software once you've completed the repair.
  
  Allow the repair process to run, download and install.
  
  Launch the Oculus app.
  
  USB power settings:
  
  Open Device Manager.
  
  Locate your USB ports - Expand the universal serial bus controller section at the bottom of the list. Look for the "USB 3.0/3.1/3.10 eXtensible" items.
  
  Right click and select Properties.
  
  Navigate to Power Management.
  
  Ensure that the options to save power are deselected.
  
  Selective Suspending:
  
  Right-click Start
  
  Click Power Options
  
  Click Additional Power Settings
  
  Click Change plan settings
  
  Click Change Advanced Power Settings
  
  Find USB Settings
  
  Make sure that Selective Suspend Setting is set to Disabled, and not Enabled.

  same issue here did you ever figured it out because i tried air link and now wont connect with cable,pop up comes up on oculus but nothings happens really really frustrated rn not gonna lie...

Hi,
here is what I found to work for me,
I was using Firefox to login, but the browser didnt respond to my clicking on myself to continue.
copied the link to chrome (booeee) and logged in there, got a popup to open some file,
and tadaa, app opens and runs as it should.

Just got the v55 update last night and airlink worked fine then today I tried to connect and will not connect. The Airlink list shows the pc is connected but the device wont pair. I did all the network and software troubleshooting steps and still will not pair

  Select Repair.
  
  Allow the repair process to run, download and install.
  
  Launch the Oculus PC app.

Same issue here - software update then inability to connect to headset, via cable or wireless. This together with another "fragile" product like MSFS makes for an unpleasant experience!

The following steps listed below are for a full clean reinstallation of the desktop app, it gets all the cached files as well so it's a 100% fresh installation. Give it a try and let us know how it turns out!
  
  Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer.
  
  Disconnect your computer from the internet.
  
  Backup any necessary content.
  
  Reboot into Safe Mode.
  
  Uninstall Oculus PC app using the Control Panel.
  
  Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:

    i'm in the same boat as everyone else. Haven't been able to use air link since patch. And have tried every single suggestion you have put forth in this thread plus some. And now I am no closer to resolution and have the pleasure of redownloading my library.
    I bought the Quest 2 specifically for the air link ability. You guys close to having a hot fix for this?

  It might be recognized by the headset for a different reason; the headset should be able to get connect to a PC just for data transfers ( which might explain the recognition) , but if the PC doesn't meet requirements, then the application won't function with the headset or the PC App. It's a little wishy-washy. But in regards to our last comments, If you continue to have problems, it would be best to PM us so that we can go over your log information, specs, and detailed troubleshooting.

Same issue here, cannot pair with 1 PC (AMD) but I can with another (Intel). Reinstalling Occulus APP didnt help, i can see both PCs in Quest 2 AirLink but when I hit Pair in the AMD one nothing pops up in the Occulus APP. I've checked Firewall/AV Setting and also tested with Firewall/AV disabled.

The work around from Meta was working.

Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer.
Disconnect your computer from the internet.
Backup any necessary content.
Reboot into Safe Mode. (Also without Safe Mode)
Uninstall Oculus PC app using the Control Panel.

Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
C:\Program Files

Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache

Restart your computer in normal mode.
Reconnect your computer to the internet.
Install Oculus PC app again using the setup tool from our website here.
Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset.

well fixed... Solution for me was going into device manager and uninstalling all my usb hubs that were 3.0 or 3.1 and any others that were questionable and rebooting pc. pc then recognized oculus as rift but then changed itself to quest. now works with cable and deny or allow pops up. whatever i did made me have to reinstall iracing, but all good now. THX

    Hello! I have been trying to connect to my laptop but it will not let me, when I run tests it says my laptop is good to run Vr, but when I try it shows that the launch button is greyed out on the quest link tab in quick settings on the oculus. I do not know how to fix this, I have tried everything but nothing works. I do not know if Vr cannot run on laptop, but I have seen other people do it.
