Quest 2 stuck on pairing code after factory reset

Hi everyone,

 

I bought a Quest 2 secondhand, but it’s stuck on the pairing code screen. I’ve tried factory resetting multiple times, and even though it connects to the Meta app, it won’t go past the code entry. The app says another user is still connected and needs to disconnect first.

 

The seller told me they did a factory reset on their side and that their account is no longer linked, but my headset is still locked.

 

Here are the details:

 

  • Device: Oculus / Meta Quest 2

 

 

I just need to know what steps are left to get it usable on my own Meta account, or if support can help clear the old account from this device.

    Hi sage.bond.2000​ 🙂

    Normally, a factory reset is all what you need to do, to set up the Quest with another account.

    Maybe ask the seller, if they still can see the Quest with their account on this page - actually, I don't believe it, but who knows😅

    If it still appears there, they should delete it from there and you can try again to pair the Quest with your account.

    Otherwise contact support, so they can look what's wrong with that device.

      They did delete it. I met up with them yesterday and did everything meta told me I could do. I formatted the headset. Had him try to connect to it. I tried to connect to it. Still locked. He deleted it. Meta said they couldn’t undo the link from there end. Offer me a headset if I send this one for 160$ . I also bought a used headset that was formatted by the owner and I login into my meta account on the spot. It cost me 85$ headset and controllers. But I have this other headset that’s just locked 🔒 And worked. And I followed the instructions. Are these location locked. So if the seller tries to sell at a McDonalds it’ll brick 🧱?????

        I don't know what else you can do🙁

        You did everthing what's needed to set up the Quest with your account.

        I have no idea, why it's still connected to another account although the seller deleted it.

        I can't help......Sorry!!
